Deerfoot - phased remodel

A 1980s custom home, which had seen several remodels. The original objective was to remodel the kitchen – suffering from 90’s-ness – but when the whole suite of ideas came out, the kids’ wing got tackled first: each room with an en-suite bath and a playroom between, with space poorly distributed between the rooms. Moved walls, expanded openings, and new finishes created an updated, harmonious space.

Next up came the kitchen, which logically included the living room and dining room. Capturing part of the over-sized breezeway provided a logical direction for expansion, but elevation changes between inside+out+and the garage created great challenges, solved by the new ipe wood waterfall stairs. The new kitchen – with all custom cabinetry – is newly open physically and visually to living, dining, and outdoors. Final touches included new siding, windows, an updated guest bath, a custom gate, paint color scheme, and furnishings.
